Question 4) Vignetting: With the brush tool, first have the height of you brush be large enough to touch the bottom and top of the photo without going over, the opacity should be 100%, hardness should be 0%, Mode should be normal, and flow should be 100%. Then press mask, and with the brush create a "potato". Next press mask again, so the "ants" crawl around your selection. Then hit the "half-moon" cookie at the bottom of layers and select curves. Curves should pop up, then change the curves to suit your liking.
Question 5) You start with one layer called "background".
Question 6) Halfmoon cookie, trash can.
Question 7) Click on the eye next to the layer.

#3: I understand that you mean "shift" where you've written "up."
