I feel that by having such a law it would make some people realize that none is perfect, and even those who appear to be need a little help. On another side of this issue I feel that a law like that wouldn't be able to do what people want it to do. It wouldn't change the ideals of beauty, they would stay the same and that is what the real issue is. Girls believe that they have to look a certain way in order to be beautiful. The only thing this law would really do is, say that no one is perfect, but this is still beautiful, and this is still the ideal. Because of that young girls would still strain, and hurt themselves to look like the retouched images.
Who is the author of a photo.
I believe that the author of a photoshopped image would be the creative director, or the editor, whoever makes the decision of what should be photoshopped, and changed. The one who decides what to photoshop, decides the overall feeling and mood of the photo, thus they are the ones giving the photo it's meaning.

Your response to "Who is the author of a photo" is also nicely argued. You imply a divide between the craftsman - he would makes the changes, and the artist - he who decides what the changes will be. Good work.
